Bank of America does not support
ACORN, an organization whose mission focuses on access to voting and advocacy
work. Bank of America's charitable giving is directed to ACORN Housing
Corporation (AHC), a separate legal entity from ACORN, which is separately
operated, funded, and managed.
AHC is focused on strengthening
communities by addressing housing issues and foreclosure mitigation. Bank of
America's support of organizations like AHC that provide assistance to
individuals and families affected by the housing crisis is part of our ongoing
commitment to invest in the neighborhoods we serve during these challenging
economic times.
Since 2006, our support for AHC
has made it possible for the organization to prepare more than 36,000 first-time
borrowers for affordable homeownership. In addition, AHC helped more than 20,000
homeowners in need of foreclosure prevention assistance last year.
